Bill W. Benson, DVM

Chief of Staff

A small town boy, Dr. Benson was born and raised in Hampton, Arkansas. After graduating from the University of Akansas in 1978 with a B.S in Biology, he decided to pursue his lifelong interest in veterinary medicine at Tuskegee. In 1982 he graduated with his DVM degree. Seduced by what he thought was a mild winter climate, Dr. Benson moved to Maryland in January of 1984.

In 1990, Dr. Benson opened the practice in Reisterstown, MD. He is a committed veterinarian/surgeon and cares for all his patients with the same enthusiasm. Among his clients are the German Shepherd, Greyhound, Dalmation, and Cocker rescue groups of Maryland who place their trust in Dr. Benson and his staff to provide the care and services needed to prepare the pets for new homes. His specialties are orthopedic and soft tissue surgeries.

He is an avid Baltimore Ravens and Orioles fan and can often be found at M&T Stadium or Camden Yards rooting for the home team. Recently, his interest in kayaking has found him soaking in the scenery at some of Maryland's most beautiful natural preserves.

Jocelyn Leigh Hawkins, DVM

Dr. Jocelyn Hawkins was born and raised in central New Jersey.  She obtained her BS degree in Biology at Cornell University and later went on to graduate from Cornell's College of Veterinary Medicine in 2004.  She enjoys all aspects of veterinary medicine and will be working on completing a special certification through the American Board of Veterinary Practioners (ABVP) in Feline and Canine Medicine over the next 3 years.

Dr. Hawkins enjoys the milder weather of Maryland (compared to upstate NY!) and can usually be found hiking the state parks with her two dogs Mya and Ace (pictured).  She also came back from a recent vacation from the Sierra Mountains with the Sierra Club.  She also is an avid equestrian and can be found riding at Full Moon Farm or trail riding her horse around Liberty Reservoir.  And or course, she always has time for her favorite felines at home, Cat and Juliet.

Brandy Watson, DVM

Dr. Watson was born and raised in New Orleans, Louisana.  She developed a love for animals early in life and as a result decided on a career in Veterinary Medicine.

A graduate of LSU, Dr. Watson has a Bachelors degree in Animal, Dairy and Poultry Science as well as a Masters Degree in Animal Nutrition and  Veterinary Medicine.

Having recently moved to Owings Mills with her 2 cats, Lewie and Mango, Brandy has brought her dedication and knowledge and of course her love for animals to our practice.

A movie buff and lover of music, Brandy has been a welcome addition to our family.  We are in the process of teaching her to say  "GO TERPS"   instead of "GEAUX TIGERS".
